The purpose of this report is to make a research on the satirical skills in George Orwell#8217;s 1984. Although George Orwell has predicted the totalitarianism in several works ,some details about how his works show the totalitarianism is as yet undetermined.Therefore ,this report is to specifically list the satirical skills he used in 1984to describe the totalitarianism.

In this report , I will research the satirical skills in George Orwell#8217;s 1984.Then I will research the connection between these skills and the totalitarianism he had drawn .

The key problem need to be solved is classify the satirical skills used in 1984.

Many reports have made researches on the 1984 from the aspect of the politics. #8220;Nineteen Eighty-Four has been discussed from many points of view: as an attack on Soviet communism (or, more specifically, on the British Labour Party), as a defense of bourgeois society, as a revelation of Orwell#8217;s paranoia, as a prophecy of worldwide totalitarianism through absolute control of the human mind, and as a study of the psychology of submission#8221;said Lillian Feder.

Richard A.Posner said #8220;(Nineteen Eighty-Four)Once viewed as a political novel, a warning about the totalitarian actuality of the Soviet Union and totalitarian tendencies that Orwell discerned in the West, it is nowadays more often viewed as a warning against the dangers that technocratic modernism poses to privacy and freedom.#8221;

There are also some researches on George Orwell#8217;s writing skllls #8220;Orwell perfected his rhetorical arsenal and lucid but flexibleprose style during the political battles of the 1930s and 1940s, when the threat to western civilization came from totalitarian and fascist regimes in Europe#8221; Jeffrey Meyers said in his article George Orwell and The Art Of Writing. He also said #8220;In 'New Words' Orwell ventures into the realm of dreams and psychology, argues for the expansion of language and boldly but impractically suggests that''''''''it would be quite feasible to invent a vocabulary, perhaps amounting to several thousands of words, which would deal with parts of our experience now practically unamenable to language.''''#8221; and #8221;Orwell#8217;s lucid, witty, and ironic style is perfectly suited to his political allegory of the Russian Revolution#8221;

Firstly,I will search related reports about George Orwell#8217;s 1984.

Secondly,I will research from two aspects:George Orwell#8217;s writing skills used in the 1984,and the political idea he wanted to express in the 1984

Thirdly,I will try to connect the writing skills with political idea to find out some details that how he express his political idea by using these writing skllls.
